Wheres the Elevator?

Today for the first time, near an escalator, when I realised that the stroller doesnt go there, that from now on I have to be looking out for elevators in a multi storeyed building

Crawling

Having read about one third of Crawling: A Fathers First Year book, I didnt find any great insights (other than the father changing from Are babies precious to 'yes, she is my favourite scone') and gave the book the dunk.

(Hu)man development is amazing. Crawling is a jig saw puzzle with pieces falling in place in days. See the energy with which the baby hoists herself forward, no wonder it is called commando crawl. When the baby does the push ups, look at the face which speaks 'look Ma no hands' glee.

Whats a mouth for?

she wants to spend quality time with her favorite
a newborn chick that does not want to spend quality time with her
 - Petting Zoo, Michael Ryan

This reminds me of my relative, a baby who wringed a chick.

Today I was pulling the mint of the stalks and showed my daughter a hint of its smell. She just reached for the bunch and tried to put it in her mouth. Not the 'Aha, my daughter is feeding herself mint moment'. Its the phase she is in:

Her seahorse glows, thats because she chewed at it
Ernie the touchdown, squeaked not because she pressed the ball
