tot tales

At the car dealers yesterday:

A lady was so into her child even though catching up on her reading too. She was rocking the kids car seat slowly. This being her third child it must be a left hand game for her.

A lady just walked in. Three little children followed her like ducklings.

sandwich poetry

Yesterday, I had an albacore tuna sadwich at Pardise bakery. I had tried their chicken walnut and liked it. Couldnnt try their tuscan chicken as it was cold cut and my bologna sandwich experience will keep me eternally discouraged.
In a poetry class, an exercise was to imagine a sandwich a certain kind of a person would order.

Ab tuna will be by someone who will be left wondering what they just had.
But it still better than a grilled veggie stacker where when asked for no cheese, the chef skipped the bread.
With a side of fres fruits, the grilled veggies became another healthy side.

Life on the loose

What happens when the new music running on the radio does not engage you?

Whatever you are doing at the moment, if you think you should be doing it or not, then it will turn out that you shouldnt be.

We are born into a world of knowledge.

Work

What is the best that we can push ourselves to? As a reader, how much can one read? How can we know all the wonderful tings in the world without spendign all the time in it? How to maintain balance with other things in life?
Nietzsche - individual -against tradition, lawyer, medicine man- above tradition
Schopenhauer- truth by perception
I am always thinking about the writing self that I can be if I can spend all my time in reading and writing. Is it a sustainable way?

Thoughts

How to be up to date with your self?

.. it takes your sleeping self years to catch up to where you really are. Pay attention to your dreams: when you go on a trip, in your dreams you will still be home. Then after you go on a trip in your dreams you will still be home. Then after you've come home you'll dream of where you were. Its a kind of jet lag of the consciousness - pg 9, Animal Dreams, Barbara Kingsolver.

Life's events as snakes and ladders.
Acknowledging the ignored gender biases.

It rained this morning, which makes us fear that the glory of this great day will be lost - July 5th Samuel Pepys.

Like Samuel Pepys

I dreamt of a kitten as a pet. It was lovely to have its wet nose nuzzle me on my feet. I was snug most of the time in the comforter.
I woke up later than usual which meant I had to do exercise at home so that I wouldnt lose time in going to the gym and back. For the same reason of lost time, I had to change my lunch plans from roti to something quick.
This morning I had oats and strawberry for lunch. Well cooked oats is a convenient thing to have for lunch in the office as it does not make much noise when you try to chew. But the strawberries give away their presence with the smell. Whatever it is that I made, my kid neighbor's little dog followed me and tried to reach for my lunch hanging from my hand. I froze like Midas. In this neighborhood, I have seen 2 other little dogs just go loose of their owner's control, I was all prepared to be bitten and scratched, but somehow I feel dogs that do run up to you might not hurt.
I have gone over recipes but havent got the main ingredient of energy to get into the kitchen and do trimmed down popover casserole. I am just topping normal popover with boiled potato. Or maybe I do. How to manage between activity and getting tired?
Popovers are in the oven. Dishes are done. One of the popovers got a strawberry. Another chosen one gets to gambol in caramel once it is done. This is Tyler Florence's idea from stirring the pot.
When potatoes go bad, they try to morph into kiwis.
After pouring some milk into the egg flour batter did I realise that I had to measure 1 cup milk and turned to the measuring cup. had I stuck on and got the amount right by looking at the consistency, I would have just broken free from the bonds of measurement.
The popovers are in ripples now. One of the scantest is  a half dome.
While picking the eggs to beat up, I noticed that one of them had a break. When at the grocery store, my roomate took a while in picking the eggs. She was going through them for any cracks. Underneath was the blemish hidden. Transparent egg cartons avoid this.
Two popovers fused. The one with strawberry has it sticking out like the cone on 'jack in the box'. The berry's juices are sizzling.
At Barnes and Nobles, I saw a cookbook with egg carton cover. Its been a while since I saw gimmick covers.
A creative non fiction book that I read recently had exercises at the end, so I would pause after each section before I could go to another. Guidelines ups the bar with an exercise in the beginning. If these pop up in the middle, that would be like putting a horse through hurdles. May be its fun for the horse, if it can jump over it.
Yesterday I came across deer drive in The World of White Tailed Deer.
I had goosebumps next to my elbows. It hurt a lot.
If sitting on the floor, next to the door, do not forget the knob of the door, while getting up. Shoulder bones dont like it much.
